JANUARY BIBLE STUDY CHALLENGE

Author and character study

The letter to Philemon is one of the smallest books in the bible but can you answer the following questions about it?

1. Who wrote the letter to Philemon?
2. Who was Philemon (How did he know the author, where did he live etc)?
3. What is the purpose of the letter (Why is it in the bible)?
4. Who was Onesimus?
5. Can you find any other references to the name Onesimus in the bible? If so, is there a connection?

Remember you have the whole month to delve into this topic, read the scripture first and then other sources to add to your knowledge.
Feel free to post comments of any information that you come across or any thoughts that come to you.

Enjoy studying the word
